there are some functions that are designed to modify the cfg some of these functions use trackconfig and callinfo, whereas others don't what to do...

please schedule it for 30 november. it should be discussed in relation to bug 951 (cfg returned by plotting functions) and to bug 1141 and 1142 (general history keeping stuff)
