Using the latest version of fieldtrip (April 6th), when running 'ft_volumenormalise', it requires 'spm_vol_minc' in line 200 ; however this function is absent from the latest version.

(In reply to comment #0) The bug persisted because of the latest changes in the script, thereby not including spm2 anymmore ; the bug occurred because T1.mnc was the template input.

It seems that ft_volumenormalise defaults to an spm2 template and spm8 code. However, the code at http://code.google.com/p/fieldtrip/source/browse/trunk/ft_volumenormalise.m#124 suggests that it is set correctly by default. So it seems a user error, where you specify the template incorrectly (or where you add the incorrect version of spm8). I suggest to change the code around http://code.google.com/p/fieldtrip/source/browse/trunk/ft_volumenormalise.m#198 into case 'minc' if ~strcmp(spm('ver'), 'spm2') error('using a MNC file format for the template is only supported with spm2') else VG = spm_vol_minc(cfg.template); end ...
