I suspect that these pi@raspberrypi:~/fieldtrip/realtime$ ls -al bin/*/buffer -rwxr-xr-x 1 pi pi 61340 Jul 7 15:24 bin/glnx86/buffer -rwxr-xr-x 1 pi pi 75981 Jul 7 15:24 bin/glnxa64/buffer -rwxr-xr-x 1 pi pi 48688 Jul 7 15:24 bin/maci64/buffer -rwxr-xr-x 1 pi pi 40828 Jul 7 15:24 bin/maci/buffer are actually the compiled version of demo_buffer.c in the buffer/test directory, although I am not 100% sure. It would make sense if for each application in realtime/bin/ARCH it would be clear where that is compiled from. Specifically, for the buffer application (which is rather crucial) it is now not clear where it originates from.

The specific case of the 'buffer' executable has been fixed in SVN revision r6265. While going trough the list in realtime/bin, I found that the recording/playback utilities are not updated to compile with the reorganized directory structure -> TODO.
